Naval Combat systems

Naval warships can field a large variety of offensive and defensive weapons systems, these are divided per ship class groups. Classes can use weapon systems from classes below them, with the exception of capital ships. These have their unique role based restrictions.

  • Defensive systems can be used regardless of class type.
  • A maximum of 6 of the same weapon system can be fitted per grid.
  • Battleships are limited to only Turret based weapons.
  • Some Weapon systems will need a radar system to provide target data.
  • Each pmw missile counts as 1 offensive weapon point ( counted per warhead )

Having more systems installed than the class allows will cause every combat system to be disabled on your ship.

Close-in weapon systems

Close-In Weapon systems or CIWS are your last line of defence against missiles ( or planes dumb enough to get too close )

Advanced Intercept systems

Advanced Intercept systems are specialised longer ranged anti-missile systems with the ability to force planes away. Combine these with ciws systems to build a solid defence.

Decoy & Specialist laser systems

These countermeasure systems are specialised to either trick or destroy missiles. Laser systems can also kill engineers. Laser systems can destroy missiles with a focused energy beam however they cost a lot of power and overheat when in constant use. Decoys are effective to counter larger volleys of missiles, they are energy efficient but have a long reload time.

A maximum of 2 of each system can be installed.

Some more advanced long range weapons require additional systems in order to get target data. There are a couple different types:

  • 360 degrees > Gives you full vision around your ship but are power hungry and easy to get shot
  • Radar panel > Gives a narrow coverage but are integrated into the ships hull which provides better protection and reliability
  • Sonar > Required for guided torpedo systems to spot underwater targets.
