How to use Radar systems Guide

We will be using properly simulated radar systems, this to get out of the wc sees all routine and add a deeper layer of naval simulation to the experience.

In order to detect other ships, aircraft etc you will need to setup various sensors on your grid in order to detect potential hostiles. These come in various options:

  • Phased array > this is a static sensor with limited coverage but offers higher resolution detection
  • Search Radar > These are your familiar spinny radars, they offer 360 degrees coverage of detection however not clear enough to get a proper fire solution at distance.
  • Fire control radar > Once something has been detected you can point a fire control radar to improve the resolution of the radar contact and potentially get a fire solution if said contact is deemed hostile.
  • IR Sensor > these detect heat sources
  • Passive Radar > These will detect if somebody is beaming radar at your grid

In order to make use of the system and detect stuff you will require the following on your grid:

  • An aggregator block
  • a hud block
  • and sensors to detect stuff with
