This is needed in order to make peace with the Dygamic faction so you can spawn a starter boat.

Once you've found where you want to settle, you look up the nearest trade zone and spawn there. Somewhere on the docks there will be a button which spawns a starter boat for 25,000 SC. You need to press this button twice. This boat can take you where you want to go, but it will need to be deconstructed once you arrive there, so don't get too attached.

Stop completely, turn on supercruise, start moving at maximum speed, then turn on main cockpit and press W a couple times until the speed setting menu on the bottom left of the screen reads full in green. You should now be going at around 100 m/s. You will be able to make course adjustments, but your speed will temporarily be reduced.

Make sure to rename the dock's grid name and place an outpost, fort, or main base core on it!
