This server doesn't reset every season but rather keeps going and have content added every 3 odd months, the plan is to add a new system every x amount of months or large scale event.
Overall the server will feature a simular balancing and play style as the season based naval servers just with spaceships, we will be looking for a more tactical approach of SE Space servers.
We want each star system to feel unique with its own looks and lore. It will feature unique npc factions and stations, but also specific blocks and weapons all styled to the npc they came from.
Initially we will be launching with the SOL system which is based on some of the existing naval factions but also slightly inspired by “The Expanse”, This will make for an easier transition for the things we already have available to us and work with that.
As we are going for a more tactical approach of space warfare we will be using the gridcore system from the naval servers to balance ship classes, we will also be adding voxel mining in the mix now we aren't limited by watermod and it eating all the resources.
The system will have asteroid belts where mining can be conducted but there will also be npc's in the system to hunt and loot.
The various npc space stations will have shops to buy parts for the faction specific blocks and missions players can run to earn money. These will consist of combat and logistics missions.
For travel ships will be able to use frameshift drives for faster travel through the system, Jump Drives will be limited to capital ships and will function a bit different than vanilla drives. These will be able to jump much further but also take a long time to recharge.
For travel between systems there will be wormholes to allow travel between the different systems.
Currently we are working on the SOL system, once thats nearing completion we can see about future systems. We will be taking some elements from existing sci-fi to build new systems and new content.
Once we have multiple systems we might even feature some crossover npc events.
