====== Aircraft ====== Aircraft are divided into several classes with their own pros & cons. A gridcore will define the class and what can be fitted on the aircraft, there are a few other points to note: * PMW missiles are for air to ground only * Thrust must always point in the same direction ( helicopters can have a tail rotor for stability ) * Only use propulsion from designated aircraft mods, vanilla thrusters are not allowed ( vanilla duct fans are ok ) **Planes cannot exceed 3000 blocks, this includes civilian aircraft as well.** == Links to system pages == * [[:ruless4:aweapons|Aircraft Weapon systems]] * [[:ruless4:apropulsion|Aircraft Propulsion systems]] ^ Class Name ^ Min Weight (T) ^ Max Weight (T) ^ Max Thrust (T) ^ Hardpoints ^ Gun Systems ^ Counter Measures ^ PMW LIMIT ^ | UCAV | N/A | N/A | 20 | 4 | N/A | N/A | N/A | | Fighter | N/A | 20 | 40 | 9 | 1 | 2 | N/A | | Strike Fighter | 20 | 32.5 | 60 | 13 | 1 | 2 | 2 | | Bomber | 32.5 | N/A | 80 | 14 | N/A | 4 | 14 | | Strategic Bomber | 45 | N/A | 100 | 28 | N/A | 6 | 28 | | Logistics / Radar Aircraft | 32.5 | N/A | 94 | TBA | N/A | 6 | N/A | | Helicopter | N/A | N/A | 20 | 6 | 1 | 2 | 4 | | Gunship | 45 | N/A | 100 | 8 | 2 | 4 | N/A | **Weight is based on dry weights otherwise known as weight before adding fuel and ammo** {{ :ruless4:wiki_ucav_banner.png?nolink |===== UCAV =====}} An unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), also known as a combat drone. These are small combat support drones with a light payload, they cannot have a cockpit. Can fit: * Short Range A2A * Short Range A2G * 1 Anti-Ship Missile {{ :ruless4:wiki_fighter_banner.png?nolink |===== Fighter =====}} This class is specialised in air dominance, its a light and quick airframe to insure control over the skies. Its weapon systems are designed to do exactly that. This class is the only class able to fit Long Range A2A missiles. Can fit: * Short Range A2A * Medium Range A2A * Long Range A2A * Light calibre fixed guns {{ :ruless4:wiki_strikefighter_banner.png?nolink |===== Strike Fighter =====}} This class is a more multi-role based aircraft, being able to field A2G and A2A missiles. Can fit: * Short Range A2A * Medium Range A2A * Short Range A2G * Long Range ASHM * General Purpose Bombs * Torpedo's * Light calibre fixed guns {{ :ruless4:wiki_bomber_banner.png?nolink |===== Bomber =====}} This Bomber class will be your main air to ground class, being fully specialised to take out surface targets. This class cannot fit any A2A missile systems. Can fit: * Long Range ASHM * General Purpose Bombs * High yield Bombs * Advanced Anti Surface weapons {{ :ruless4:wiki_stratbomber_banner.png?nolink |===== Strategic Bomber =====}} This is the anti base bomber, able to carry a large volume of destruction. **A faction can have only one of these active at all times.** Can fit: * Long Range ASHM * General Purpose Bombs * High yield Bombs * Advanced Anti Surface weapons {{ :ruless4:wiki_logiawacs.png?nolink |===== Logistics / Radar Aircraft =====}} Is is a bit of a mixed class for military support planes, be it either to fly ground assets around or provide combat support. Can fit: * TBA {{ :ruless4:wiki_helicopter_banner.png?nolink |===== Helicopter =====}} The direct ground support aircraft, able to take of from anywhere and provide support to your ground forces. **This class is allowed to make a turret out of a fixed weapon linked with a ctc or other means of control** **Has to use the helicopter blades / and or duct fans** Can fit: * Short Range A2A * Short Range A2G * Light Calibre Fixed Guns * Medium Calibre Fixed Guns ===== Gunship ===== A gunship is a type of aircraft capable to bring a higher volume of direct ground support weaponry, as its designed purely for heavy air to ground support it cannot field any air to air weaponry. **This class is allowed to make 2 turrets out of a fixed weapon linked with a ctc or other means of control** **A faction can have only one of these active at all times.** Can fit: * Short Range A2G * Light Calibre Fixed Guns * Medium Calibre Fixed Guns * High Calibre Fixed Guns (tba, from ground vehicle section) **This page is still under construction, text and images is still being worked on.**
